1. Everydays: The First 5000 Days by Beeple
Beeple’s digital collage, made up of 5,000 images he created over 13 years, tops our list. It sold for an astounding $69.3 million at Christie’s in March 2021, making it the priciest NFT ever.
2. Clock by Pak
This NFT by Pak is a digital clock counting the days WikiLeaks’ founder Julian Assange has been imprisoned. It was sold for $52.7 million in November 2021 to AssangeDAO, a group that raised the funds collectively to buy it and support Assange’s legal defense.
3. Human One by Beeple
Beeple strikes again with Human One, a piece that uniquely combines both physical and digital elements, which Beeple can update for the rest of his life. This NFT sold for $28.9 million in November 2021.
4. CryptoPunk 5822 by Larva Labs
CryptoPunk 5822, one of the rare “alien” punks from a series of 10,000 characters created in 2017, sold for $23.7 million in February 2022. Only nine CryptoPunks share the alien trait, making them highly valuable.
5. CryptoPunk 7523 by Larva Labs
Another “alien” CryptoPunk, number 7523, fetched $11.75 million in a Sotheby’s auction in June 2021.
6. TPunk 3442 by TPunks
Known as the “Joker” TPunk, TPunk 3442 sold for $10.5 million in December 2021 to Tron Blockchain founder Justin Sun. TPunks, created in 2021, are celebrated as the first NFTs on the Tron Blockchain.
7. CryptoPunk 4156 by Larva Labs
This “ape” CryptoPunk, number 4156, sold for $10.26 million in December 2021. Its sale was notable not just for the price but also because it was the avatar of the investor formerly known as Punk4156, who then rebranded to just 4156.
8. CryptoPunk 5577 by Larva Labs
CryptoPunk 5577, featuring the rare “ape” trait and a cowboy hat, sold for $7.7 million in February 2022.
